September Spotlight on Dr. Charkawi

Dr. Zack Charkawi treats both routine and complex health issues for patients of all ages. Johns Creek Family Medicine provides a wide range of services including acute, chronic, and specialized age-specific medical care services. In addition to diagnosing and treating illness, he also focuses on preventive care, including routine checkups, health-risk assessments, immunization, screening tests, and personalized counseling on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Attention to preventive diagnostic care differs for each age group, specifically children, adults, and seniors.
“My philosophy is to treat patients with dignity and respect in an unhurried atmosphere. Through open dialogue, treatment can be provided that will improve overall well being. My patients are my priority.”

Dr. Charkawi takes an in depth look into all aspects of his patients’ needs and works with his patient’s entire support system to formulate tailored treatment and health maintenance programs. He strongly stresses that listening and being available for his patients are key tools to his successful treatment approach.

Schedule Your Flu Shot

Dr. Zack has flu vaccinations for 2015!! While Dr. Zack recommends that everyone get a flu vaccine before this flu season, it’s especially important that certain patients be vaccinated either because they are at high risk of developing serious flu-related complications or because they live with or come in repeated contact with others at high risk of developing flu-related complications,  including:
  • Pregnant women
  • Children younger than 5 and especially children younger than 2 years
  • People 50 years of age and older
  • People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions such as asthma and diabetes
  • People with suppressed immune systems due to illness or medications
  • People living in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities
  • Healthcare and daycare professionals
  • Household contacts of people at high risk for complications from the flu
  • Household contacts and out-of-home caregivers of children less than six months of age who are too young to be vaccinated.
