Weight Loss Goals:
It’s June and the temperature outside is begging us to go have fun in the sun. Did bathing suit season sneak up on you? Maybe you are struggling with that New Year’s Resolution eat healthier and exercise. Whatever your reason, weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight is a struggle that more than two-thirds of American adults face. One-third of American children struggle with obesity related issues, and the number is rising.
Physicians and dieticians agree that there are 4 key elements to losing weight:
- Support – Most of us are NOT our own cheerleaders; we are usually hard on ourselves. That’s why it is important to surround yourself with a good support system. Friends, family & co-workers can be your personal cheerleading squad that will keep you going when the going gets tough. Because, it will get tough. So, be ready for the struggle.
- Choose a good eating & exercise plan – There are thousands of eating and exercise plans at your disposal. Talk to Dr. Charkawi to find out which one is best for you. Start out with a simple exercise and eating plan to establish good habits. Once you have a consistent routine, then consider incorporating different types of exercises.
- Set reasonable short & long terms goals – No plan would be complete without specific goals. Dr. Charkawi can help you determine appropriate goals based on your current weight and medical conditions.
Dr. Charkawi has helped many patients reach their weight loss goals. Not only will he be part of your support team, but his input is critical to providing you with all the tools you need to be successful.
